China because of its vast size and history provides a large number of tourist attractions than any other country.  For first time visitors, it can be quite challenging to cover all tourist spots so here is a list of highlights of China:

  • Visit various Architectural miracles

China is home to some architectural miracles and among them one the Great Wall of China which finds a place in the seven wonders of the world. Besides the high wall, there are various other architectural miracles present like hanging temple of Shanxi province, Terracotta army, The Leshan Giant Buddha in Sichuan province, the forbidden city of Beijing.

  • Feast on Hong Kong cuisine

Hong Kong cuisine is influenced by Chinese, European, Japanese, Korean and Southeast Asian cuisines. It is a mixture of both western and Asian flavors and provides an unlimited variety of food due to which it acquired the name “World’s Fair of Food.” From roadside stalls to upscale restaurants all are available in Hong Kong. Some famous dishes include dim sum, egg tart, pecking duck, high tea, etc.

  • Visit Pandas of Chengdu

Pandas probably are the cutest animals on the planets. The bamboo forest of Sichuan is home to giant Chinese pandas. Chengdu Panda Sanctuary provides tourists with an opportunity to see these magnificent animals which are on the verge of extinction. Chengdu Panda Sanctuary tries to provide a natural habitat to these animals and focuses on their conservation.

  • Hike along the Longsheng rice terraces

The Longsheng rice terraces are located in Longsheng County where layers of rice shoot in summer. Terraced Rice Fields has a resemblance to dragon’s scales, while the summit of the mountain range looks like the backbone of the dragon due to which it is also called Dragon’s backbone. Hiking along the terraces offers an unparallel view of nature. The locals in the area are very friendly and often offer accommodation in their homes for tourists.

  • Visit the festival in Guizhou

Forty-nine ethnic minorities are living in Guizhou, and they host various festivals at different times of year. Some of them are Sisters meal festival in April, Lusheng festival in February, Dragon Canoe Festival in June, the Miao New Year Festival in October and so on. People use these festivals to pray for a good harvest by singing, dancing in their traditional costumes. These festivals can help in understanding different communities and their customs.
